Although Wednesdays typically favor either CBS or FOX, a heated ballroom competition was last night’s top draw. Despite a 17% drop in viewers from last November’s finale, DWTS did just enough to help ABC win both categories yesterday.
8pm
- NCIS (18.2 million, 3.6/10 in 18-49) was up 200,000.
- House (12.5 million, 5.0/14) fell by a 1/2 million.
- The Charlie Brown Thanksgiving special (3.4/9) served up 11.1 million.
- The Biggest Loser: Families (6.8 million, 2.6/6) dropped 1 million pounds.
- CW‘s airing of How to Deal (0.4/1) averaged 883,000 .

Tuesday Ratings: NCIS Has Its Best Night Ever
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, Dancing With The Stars, House, Ratings,
I just can’t wait to see what happens when American Idol finally comes around. Last night, NCIS - a show in its sixth season - had an evening to remember. The show not only saw its best demo performance in approximately a year, it had its largest audience ever. The Mark Harmon program went on to help CBS win with the the viewers while FOX was on top with the demos.
8pm
- NCIS (18.8 million, 4.0/10) added on 1.7 million since its last original episode.
- House (12.9 million, 5.5/14) had Tuesday’s best demos.
- Dancing with the Stars* (2.1/5) recapped 10.4 million.
- The Biggest Loser: Families (3.4/8) weighed in 8 million.
- 90210 (1.4/4) registered 2.7 million.

MONDAY (11/10)
- Chuck (NBC, 8pm): “Chuck chances upon his ex-flame (Jordana Brewster) and embellishes his status in life to impress her.” We’re talking about a girl who starred in D.E.B.S.. He shouldn’t try too hard.
- Prison Break (FOX, 9pm): “Gretchen gives Michael the rest of the bird book, but he suffers another seizure after deciphering it.” That pretty much sums up my feelings about bird books as well.
- Samantha Who? (ABC, 9:30): “Sam is sentenced to community service, where she meets a troubled young woman (Mary-Kate Olsen) and decides to help turn her life around.” Sam has now become the better-looking version of Earl Hickey.
- 17 Kids and Counting (TLC, 10pm): “Jinger takes her driving test; the family celebrates Michelle’s birthday and responds to viewer questions.” Uhh, I have a question. Jinger? Seriously?

Maybe CBS has a repeat of Fringe to thank? Whatever the reason, The Mentalist hit a season high last night with its sixth episode. The freshman series then helped out Without a Trace’s numbers. All this activity gave the the network its best Tuesday since December ‘07. Unfortunately, House‘s hot demos meant FOX still had the lead last night in the 18-49 group.
8pm
- NCIS (17.1 million, 3.4/9 in 18-49) did the same as last week.
- House (13.1 million, 5.3/14) killed in the demos.
- ABC‘s presentation of It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (3.4/9) had 10.4 million reminiscing.
- The Biggest Loser: Families (8 million, 3.1/9) packed on 700,000 more pounds.
- 90210 (1.6/4) returned to 3.2 million.

Tuesday Ratings: Dancing with the Stars Helps Out DWTS
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, Dancing With The Stars, House, Ratings,
Thanks to ABC’s smart decision to can Opportunity Knocks, the network’s first two hours saw big improvements over last week. Unfortunately, its third hour (Eli Stone) didn’t benefit from the programming change. By night’s end, CBS was the winner with the viewers while FOX was tops with the demos.
8pm
- NCIS (17.1 million, 3.6/10 in 18-49) lost 800,000.
- House (12.9 million, 5.5/15) had the best demos of the night.
- A Dancing with the Stars* recap show (9.3 million, 2.0/6) did 4 million better than last week’s Knocks.
- The Biggest Loser: Families (7.3 million, 2.9/8) was down slightly.
- 90210* (1.4 million, 0.6/2) was down 400,000.

The 60th Primetime Emmy Awards
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Award Shows, Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, ABC, Cable, FX, HBO, Entourage, Editorial, Features,
Even though the previous television season was marred by the annoying writers’ strike, I find myself really excited for the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards. Not only will this ceremony give us a chance to start anew, it’ll be the academy’s chance to celebrate what’s new.
Tonight, two basic cable shows (Damages, Mad Men) will get a chance to win for Outstanding Drama Series. (That would be an Emmy first.) Meanwhile, nominees in several categories will have an opportunity to compete in a Sopranos-less environment. An added bonus? A new category. This year, reality show hosts will finally be acknowledged for their programming contributions as well.
So who won? Who lost? Who ran up and grabbed the award even though they didn’t win? Read our West Coast play-by-play account of this evening’s telecast and find out!
